The core element in my work relates to human figures that are brought to life through painting. The figures do not appear in an anatomically correct or natural form. Rather they are deformed, alienated or geometrically simplified. Sometimes they even appear as a kind of monstrous being and can at best be considered to be similar to the human being. I do not want to reproduce human figures in their mere outward appearance, but by altering the form of the body and through the physical effect of colour matter I want to express their or their general human states as well as their inner life.
