The key feature of the work is the formal language involving painting over graffiti (also known as buffing). A selection of buffs was transferred to textile blinds. The unusual forms that result from painting over many graffiti are reminiscent of abstract painting or a reduced kind of illustration. Curtains, roller blinds and venetian blinds form the foundations for the work. These items denote ideas of domesticity, which is contrary to the subversive attitude of the sprayers. The contrast between the permanent vigilance and tension of the sprayers in action and the feeling of security and relaxation in a protected living space should become obvious in this work.
