Within this installation, various sculptural elements form a setting that takes up motifs from the ‘inventory of the HfG’. The objects, detached from their contexts and freely reproduced, act as protagonists within the installation, making reference to their former significance or adding something to that. The focus is on fragments, red herrings and the potential of the unfinished.
One & On shows photographed reliefs in unfinished states and as already discarded versions of themselves. The only access to the room is from the back entrance, which is also blocked by a hanging aluminium object in double paw form. The act of entering becomes a performative process, whereby the view through the back door corresponds with the unfinished process of making and discarding.
