Here and yet no longer there: Malte Sänger takes mobile phone photos posted on social media channels that show people fleeing toward Europe and transforms them into real places on satellite images, with the help of the corresponding metadata. These are his Abdrücke (marks) He then juxtaposes the posted photos of the refugees with the real metadata and text, based on extensive previous research. Since the prints of the social media photos have not been chemically fixed, they fade during the course of the exhibition.
