Maku is a pneumatic system printed in 3D. In a specially developed printing process, microorganisms are printed in a nutrient solution in liquid silicone. The symbiotic life cycles of the microorganisms power the pneumatics. Maku is finished after the printing process. The organisms begin to work at a certain ambient temperature, reproducing and thus operating the pneumatics. The system functions autonomously and requires no further aids. Only the ambient temperature should be right.
