The work is a sound installation relating to the topic of club culture, in which the nightly blurring of boundaries takes place between inside and outside, in front of and in clubs.

One Club ’18 consists of a darkened room in which there is a inaccessible wooden cube (4×3.5×2.5×1.5 meters). Inside the cube there is a club PA installed on a double floor. A track by Felix Krapp can be heard. Five more loudspeakers are hanging in the room, playing field recordings from downtown Frankfurt. These were collected over several nights in front of different clubs and then fragments were filtered out, altered and amplified. Some places have the same rhythm as the track in the wooden cube, thus increasing the effect of an undefined boundary between inside and outside. Through the particular smell of beer-prepared bitumen rolls laid out on the floor, the moist surface of the glycerine-sprayed cube, and through the two pointed and strongly dimmed light sources in the room, the work primarily addresses the senses other than that of seeing. The soundtrack runs for about eight minutes and then begins from the beginning again.
